Is Test & Tag Legally Required in Victoria?
While testing and tagging isn’t explicitly legislated in Victoria, Section 21 of the OH&S Act 2004 requires all employers to maintain a safe work environment.
WorkSafe Victoria strongly encourages regular inspection and testing of electrical equipment, particularly in high-risk or commercial environments. In the event of a workplace incident, federal guidelines and AS/NZS 3760 will be used to assess compliance.

Unsafe placement or environmental hazards

Using certified Portable Appliance Testers (PAT), we assess:

Insulation resistance
We also inspect fire safety equipment (blankets and extinguishers) to ensure full workplace safety.

You’ll receive a clear report for every item tested, outlining:
Pass/fail status

All records are stored digitally for future reference or audits.
